I have a late 60 that I cannot seem to find the right thermostat for. The outside rim can only be 1/16 inch thick, and the only thing I have gotten from Deere is 3/16 " thick. Where can I get the right one???

If you have your serial number and a decent counter person! Napa can get it next am. Just got one for my 60 there less than a month ago

It takes a little digging in the Parts Catalog (PC0244)to figure this out...

AA5749R (Range 160º-178º F)

Part Number: AF1710R
Replaces Part: AA5749R

OR:

AA5750R (Range 180º-195º F

The part AA5750R is no longer available.

Please tell me that such a thermostat is delivered in velvet bag containing a beautiful polished box made of Amboyna Burl. And the device itself was hand carved from a block of solid Indium with Palladium and Rhodium moving components by a small group of kindly and dedicated craftspeople wearing small round spectacles and well worn aprons using vintage machines living in a tiny village in the mountains of Iowa. That must be a mighty impressive unit for how proud they appear to be of it.

Yeah, why not SHOOT the messenger?

He asked a question, I took the time to look it up, and post the information I found, explaining the situation.

What did YOU do, besides be a %$@#?

made a (evidently astonishingly unsuccessful) minor attempt at some humor poking a little bit of fun at the price that JD decided to charge for the part. no personal offence nor malice intended towards anyone nor any company.

Well, ALRIGHTY, then!

Apparently, you have the same luck at successfully posting what you find humorous as I do! (LOL!)

We "play" to a tough audience here!

And for the one we needed for our 730LP, Deere wanted $255.00. But Deere was nice enough to sub it to an incorrect one for only $155.00 :(
When I called a parts support person at Deere and complained that the subbed part would not fit in our tractor and that they subbed the wrong part, I was told "well, the part has been subbed." End of discussion. We ended up having one machined to fit.

Thanks fellas, I will get back to the 60 after corn harvest. (working for a BTO pulling the grain cart.)

Try a Gates stat for about $40 on eBay etc. the #33049 is 2.875" in diameter and is 190F.
There is a Stant that also fits. A #45479 or #13479 for the cheaper Stant.
If you prefer NAPA then a #357-180 or 33388 .

There, those are three sources of stats that will work.

Great. Thanks. I know we tried NAPA, but somehow missed these.
