Hydro-Cushion Seat

So I'm starting on my next soundguard conversion project. I have a 40 series cab that I am in the process of gutting completely. It has the hydraulic seat but judging by the amount of oil/grease buildup around the valve, I think it is in need of new everything. The tractor it came from did run but had no hydraulics, and therefore I could not test out the valve beforhand. But being able to make it work would save me a ton versus ditching it for an air-ride seat. Anyone work on these before? Tim???

Ooh yes they are very repairable, some times the front valve will leak up the shaft, but not hard to service, and the accumulator can leak out and need replaced which is easy,,be sure to keep it in the mix you will like it..we can help you with it when the time comes...

Sweet! It actually did look like there was a stream of oil coming up from around the rod that adjusts the valve. I have the greaseball all cleaned off now so I can send it to you. Shoot me your address.

I assume the accumulator is what provides the 'soft' position and when it leaks out, you get firm in both positions. I have another tractor (4650) doing this now. Can they be recharged or do you just replace the canister?

Some JD dealers & some ind technicians such as Tim S can refill the nitrogen canisters.
