Update on my 4230, shop told me the slow hydraulics was the front pump so I sent it in for testing and rebuild, shop called (place that does only JD pumps) and told me the pump had 2 bad check valves. Sent me another pump. Yep you guessed it same slow hydraulics.
So tonight we did a flow test from the trans pump. It puts out only 1-2 gal a min. Specs are 12 gal. So the books states to check the filter bypass valve etc on the side. All the springs and valves look good and move free, this is the 2nd time we checked them. So do I assume the pump is bad now? The best price on a trans pump for a syncro is $619.00. I am considering ordering a used filter relief valve housing just to rule that out. I can get a used one for $40 it looks like. Is there anything else that would cause trans pump flow to be only 1-2 gal a min?
