1935 A cylinder head

Looks as if I will be needing a replacement
cylinder head for my early AR project. Has anyone
out there have any or know of anyone that has had
any experience with those aftermarket cylinder
heads such as Detwiler and Sharps sells? Or would
I be better off finding a good used original? I am
not the fussiest guy as far as originality is
concerned. P.S. are they imports or made here in
the states?

What's wrong with yours? Cracks can be fixed most of the time. New valves & exhaust seats & (rarely) new guides, surface it & install.

I agree with GTX. Most heads can be fixed with good success by good repair shops but there is a cost as well if the repair isn't major. I've got an aftermarket head on my 35 A & it's been on for 5 years now with no problems. The reason I replaced my original was the crack went too deep into the seats & the repair shop said they would have too much time into pinning it vs a $500 new head.
