throttle rod length on a

can some one tell me how long the throttlr rod from throttle lever to the spring on the governor? mine was cut off by previous owner.

its a styled 1949 A

all help is appreciated.

Take a look at the diagram below.

The speed control rod (Key 7) is approximately 11 inches long and is threaded on one end.

Take a look at the photo below of the speed control rod on "Old John" Nancy's 48A.

Note that the first 1 inch includes part of the speed control rod end (Key 6) and 1/4 jam nut (Key 5).

There was about 1/4 inch of threads showing on the speed control rod from the jam nut.

With the throttle on the steering post set at full throttle, the rod from the gov. to the carb should be 1/2 hole short from droppping in the arm on the carb when held open to full throttle.
 
I don't know which type of rod end you have. mine has about one inch of internal threads. I would say 25.5 to 26 inches. Hope this helps. Good luck, Fred
