Cast frame A no tag

Mine is a 44 model. If I remember correctly 43 and 44 are but I'm not positive. Mine is hard to read because the plate is steel.

Those years mentioned are correct. Mine is a 43 referred to as wartime. Cast frame as mentioned, small rad cap and pressurized radiator, which required less copper(wartime rationing) no electric start or electrical of any kind, came with steel wheels, and no #5 and #6 gear, no hydraulics or rockshaft but has PTO. Just a plain little workhorse with no frills and yes a steal # tag as aluminium was kept for the planes. My grandfather ordered in 1942 a more modern model A with all the bells and whistles but after waiting a year and a half this one became available after someone else passed it over. The Deere dealer offered it to him as he knew the one they had order would not come for at least one more year.

Alright that gets me close enough I guess. Mine has electric start and lights, small radiator cap, powerlift, 6 spd trans, and a few other items im forgetting. Thanks guys.

Sorry for a late reply. I hardly ever check in here anymore. Pretty much everything that's been said is correct. Cast frame is 522600-542699, pressure cooling came just a thousand digits later at 523600, the PTO shaft seal housing changed at the same time. The only other thing that I know of right off hand that was changed during this period was that the throttle shaft bushing was deleted from the governor housing at 532180, so that would narrow it down some more. 532180 would be a mid 44 model year tractor built about the first week of January 44. I think you would have to remove the reaction arm to see if there is a bushing or not.
Good luck
