Has anyone put a injection pump off 6600 combine on a 4020?

I was wondering if anyone has put an injection pump off a 6600 combine rated at 110 hp on a 4020. They look they same but more fuel I guess and a later model pump. It's shows to be a 12 volt but I would hook up anything and just have a mechanical shutoff i guess. I have a new pump never used I got and thought to try it and see how she does.. Would it work?

The housing pilot will fit a 4020 with a JDB pump, but not the early tractors with the DB. The drive shaft is different, and the weight retainer is marked different also as number one cylinder is at 3 O'clock on the combine pump, and 5 O'clock on the 4020, so timing line would need changed. A shorter pilot bushing is used to retain the verticle mount pump as the drive shaft has an O ring to keep it in place. So the short answer is no, not a direct bolt on without some changes first.

Thanks for the help! I don't know if it's worth changing or not and I wonder if the hp is too much for 4020. Mine is rough and speeds up and down at idle and I don't know if it will need rebuilding or not.

Take the two screw timing plate off the 4020 pump and check for what looks like coffee grounds inside, sounds like the retainer ring is failing. Just repaired an IH 806 pump for the same trouble.

I took the timing cover off and nothing... Checked the return line check valve and nothing there either and it is free to tank... Could it be possible that the shutoff linkage on pump is out of alignment causing it to starve for fuel. Idle is the worse with no response til I get to about 1500 then it runs like a champ. Has good response with throttle pedal. Got me puzzled..

the horsepower rating for a combine engine is gross horsepower, no generator hydraulic pump or other power using attachments. the tractor engine is pto horsepower. a combine engine is no more powerful than the same engine in a tractor. my first 7700 combine [4020 engine] was rated at 128 horsepower. it was very easy on fuel. if a 4020 was set at 128 horsepower it would smoke like a freight train if it would even make that much power.
