Unstyled G gaskets

I need to look at old gaskets but can someone tell me whether you use a AF1075R/RE524064 or a AF1076R/RE524065 gasket set for an unstyled G with the F486R flat head?

Serial # break is at 7100.

Look at .pdf page 150 at the link blow, for drawings of the gaskets.

AF1075R is for Model G #1000-#7099. AF1076R is for Model G 7100 on up. I don't know if the flat heads stopped at 7099 or not.

Stopped and looked at my G tonight. I definitely need the 1075 gasket set. Got another surprise. Always heard you use Permatex #3 for head gasket. Just found out that #3 is now gone and suppose to use the aviation gasket material.

Have built a lot of two cylinders in the last 20 years,some were pullers with 12.5 to 1 compression [to high] and have never used permatex or had a head gasket blow.I have block and head decked and spray metal of gaskets with alum.paint a couple of times and install when it is still tackey.Run the tractor and get it hot a couple of times and re-tork head while hot.

Thanks for the info. I have also heard some say they use spray on copper gasket sealer. What do you use for the other gaskets like water intake, exhaust manifold, etc?

Copper coat works great. Available at most auto parts stores.
