4010 steering

Replaced hyd pump due to stripped drive splines and other issues. Hyd's SCV's & hitch work good but no power steering. Have 2250# press at SCV's and off press valve to steering valve dead headed at steering valve fitting. Dissembled steering valve completely, checking operating plate clearances before removal and found nothing wrong. What am I missing? Could there be damage to steering valve from manually steering tractor w/o hyd's for loading and moving into shop? thanks, john

Yes,, it's possible that the adjustments got a bit out of place with manual steering even though they were made to take it,, you can't really tell if the adjustments are correct the way you did,,the wider adjustment needs checked first then the closer one next. If you want put in a bucket and send it to me, I'll disassemble re-seal and calibrate it, then bench test it for $250 plus $100 for the o-ring kit..

Hey Tim, What is the number of the tool you are using for the adjustment of that valve? It looks different than the one I am familiar with.

JDH3 it's the only one I have ever used..It makes for a nice place to rest the dial indicator on..

Thanks for reply. Forgot about the plate/tool. I made one out of thick steel that bolts to hsg and put a .018? feeler gauge between it and operating collar.
