Cylinder repair

Can anyone tell me how to get this end off? It's for the pick-up head lift on a JD 467 baler. Thanks, Dan

I think you take a small punch and go in the hole opposite where the wire is coming out. Drive the "wire' on around until you can grip it with a vise grip and pull the "wire" out. Then the end will pull off the cylinder.

see the hole in the end piece ? there is a wrench called a spaner wrench-- you put the nob of the wrench in there and turn it and the wire keeper comes out then the cyl. comes apart-- good luck! -- Roy

Looks like you might have hammered some on the draw key and made life a bit more difficult for yourself. That will have to be dremeled until it can spin around with the end cap and you pry out the end of the square draw key while spinning the cap to push the entire length out of the slot. Do a search for 'CSI Yard Man Part 1' to watch Keith Fenner do one on youtube.
