The Antique Harvest Days show will be held again this year just north of Ottumwa, IA on Saturday and Sunday, October 25 and 26 (weather permitting). Featured will be corn picking, corn shelling, combining beans, antique grain handling with different elevators and wagon lifts, and an inside cup elevator that is a 1936 model and has it's original electric motor. Also included will be a husker shredder, threshing, hand corn shelling for the kids (they love this) and many other activities including a working 1919 Waterloo Boy tractor. The show is on Hwy. 149 just north of Ottumwa, IA off of exit 40. You can't miss it. For more information message me here or privately. I will give updates as the show gets closer, along with any weather delays. Mike

Thanks Mike, my daughter and her family live in Ottumwa so I try to make it down for the show. The grandson's have a ball with those hand corn shellers. Always fun to see the old equipment working.

I am curious as to how they determine what variety corn to plant to minimize the ear from shelling in the rolls of the header. I would love to do an antique harvest days but that is the question that gets raised along with varieties that do well in wide rows. Is a fee charged to each participant?
