1949 B Power Trol issues

Hi
Having issues trying to get my Power Trol to work. Have my 49 B hooked up to a JD #8 mower, so i am working with an cylinder on the mower. Hydraulic fluid is full, but can't get it to lift the bar.
I elected not to use the plugs at this time and plumbed the the 2 right side pipe plugs with a 90 elbow and Pioneer quick couplers. Do i have to have special plugs in the Power Trol for this to work? What am i doing wrong here?

Thanks
Jeff

To use a remote cylinder you have to adjust the Metering Screw on the left side of the Powr-Trol. Remove the long 3/8" cap nut, back off the jam nut, then turn the screw in until it bottoms out. Tighten the jam nut and replace the cap nut.

Use the regular "dummy plugs" when using a cylinder the way you have it plumbed.

To go back to rockshaft operation turn the metering screw out 2 turns.
