This winter i will replace the head gasket in the 1952 A. So I thought where do I begin my search. I know, I shall click above. I really am quite shocked at the price, Really I am. I pay far more for car engine upper kits and still end up buying one more gasket. I like, no I really like this site. They seem to care about providing parts to keep the old tractors running. Not to mention how nice it is to read posts were you guys provide the technical information needed, along with some humor. A great site indeed. Just wanted to say so.

Ive heard of people buying headgaskets at the local autoparts store too !!! I dont know the price difference or quality. If it dont leak and its half price who cares ?? I dont.

felpro and victor gasket sets which most auto parts stores carry are still available for some tractors. Bill

I wouldn't be afraid of a name brand replacement set, like Victor or Fel-Pro. However I got an unmarked aftermarket gasket set for my 1948 D from a reputable supplier. No name on it but I thought since it was from a highly recommended machine shop it'd be OK. NOT SO, it ran 10 hours before it blew out a fire ring and started leaking water in the cylinders. Next gasket set came directly from Deere.
