John Deere G Steering Spindle Shaft Shims

I tore my G's steering gear apart and replaced the lower spindle shaft bearing and washer. I noticed when I took it apart the three A490R shims (see parts catalog PC369, page 100, item 21) were not in place under the sector gear. The shims are listed in the parts catalog as being 0.036" thick which is just over 0.100" total thickness. Upon reassembly of the spindle shaft I checked the shaft's vertical travel and found about 0.100" of movement. That is almost exactly the thickness of the three missing A490R shims. John Deere no longer lists the A490R shims. Does anyone have any ideas about where NOS parts can be found, or the physical dimensions so I can make some? Any help is much appreciated.
