Got a nice 37 A but the right plug gets real black and just doesn't seem to run right, Have been thru the carb including drilled twice and the mag has been thru also, any ideas

I don't know the physics but every unstyled a and b I've seen shows richer to varying degree on right cylinder. Even the ones that run well. I'd surmise it's related to the unique firing sequence. Obviously something's amiss if it's not running correctly though. Since you've owned it, has it ever run satisfactorily? If not there are tons of things to check. Is the cam timed correctly-ignition run timing correct? Manifold gasket leaking? Cam lift/duration in spec? Valves sealing? Valve clearance? Compression good and relatively equal? Laser thermometer is a good diagnostic tool. Can easily show temp differences/discrepancy. Sorry I don't have the silver bullet. These tractors are old and who knows what po have done or modified. Carb passages or nozzle could be hogged out etc. let us know how you progress

Bring it on up , I've got time/ideas and cost you nothing if I can't remedy it. Can't blame you for posting here first but as you can see it could be many things or combinations and almost impossible to do without the tractor here. There's a couple flow charts I go through but they mean nothing without being able to actually "hear" the thing run. Let me know. RB
