A running Unstyled G in good condition will cost you anywhere
from $3-10 thousand. Bring lots of cash. Your going to need it. I
found a unstyled G close to home and the old guy in his 80's
said he want to redo it someday. I couldnt get him to set a price
either. Still setting in his yard. Good Luck on your journey and
welcome to the USA !!!

Couple of suggestions for finding an unstyled G John Deere. First check around in Europe on the internet for tractors and collectors who might know about some tractors for sale.
Second: There are a lot of good books on Amazon.com about restoring tractors and on John Deere G's. Third: Search Ebay.com for tractors currently for sale and also use the "completed sales" option for sales and prices. Fourth: Go to Utube.com and see if there is any video on John Deere G and also a recent MECUM sale that featured a collector who sold his collection of G's which will give you an idea of prices. Fifth: When you find a tractor (s) that meet your requirements hire a local mechanic in the area to examine the tractor with you. You definitely must drive the tractor and check out all the major systems to be sure they are in operating condition. Sixth: Research shipping, customs, and paper work requirements for acquiring and shipping a tractor back to Germany. Most tractors are shipped in a sealed container. I would advise also purchasing maintenance accessories like filters, sparkplugs, hoses, etc that may be hard to get in Germany. Good luck in your search. One last site you might want to view would be "tractorhouse.com" which has a good selection of tractors.

MBI (Motor Books International) has published some buyer's guides for muscle cars and tractors including John Deere.

Hello together,
first thanks for the replies, on Friday I'm going To watch on unstyled G me what should cost around € 7500, its in Europe slightly more expensive than in the United States.

Where to get cheap spare parts for this model?

With kind regards Florian

Parts can be purchased at many locations in US, some are new (John Deere or aftermarket companies), some new old stock (NOS) etc. Ebay has a lot of parts listed. I'd also suggest subscribing to Green Magazine and/or Two Cylinder magazine as they both have a lot of antique tractor vendors and people selling parts, new and old. Until you have a specific part requirement we can only give you generic answers. Part numbers are important when doing part searches for both old and new parts. I sometimes start my search for parts by typing the part number in Google and see what comes up. Has worked numerous times. When you get your tractor post some pictures and we will be able to give you some better info. Good luck.
