Hay ride with the 60

I hooked my 60 to the wagon this afternoon and took a church group on a hayride. There's something about sitting in the seat of the old 60 in late afternoon and listening to that 2 cylinder sound that takes me to my happy place.

When I was in the Boy Scouts in middle school, my Dad had just bought a new 4020 diesel. The Scoutmaster asked him if he would be willing to take us on a hayride with it, and my oldest brother ended up doing the driving duties. The trailer was a 953 Deere with a bunch of bales of hay. It has become one of my all time favorite memories of my Dad and my brother. I know what you mean about your happy place!

Been working hard to get my B ready for a Fall color ride. I think all that is left is to check the valves again (would make me feel better). Am so looking forward to it!

I took My 60 for a ride yesterday too,,I love to hear talking to me, It reminded me of my Youth and bringing her home from a days work...

We usually have a get together with family and friends here on the farm every October.

There is a hayride tour of the farm with one of the Model 70s pulling the trailer.

Here's <a href="http://youtu.be/kbId7_pwkbc?list=UU4gFuJx6qHbiK0FRREh2lDw">a four minute ride</a> on "15" one of our 1953 Model 70s.

Had my '52 A out on Saturday plowing, nothing better than hearing it sing its song! Wife took some video hopefully I can get it to upload.

I too have always enjoyed running the 620
or 60's on a hay ride. But !! A few years
ago at a large Family reunion I had the
chance to run a Model 820 that my cousin
owned & had Just been completely restored.
Stem to stern, pulling a 9 x 18' wagon New
bale king with 37 adults 16 children + 60 some
bales of straw on a fall ( STRAW ) ride....
After working that 820 going up some pretty
steep hills & which seem at 1/2 throttle but
it was wide open & being able to whoa it down
easy going down hills It just hasn't ever
been the same.....
