Wico X 25 degree long lug drive cup

No sources, but a 6274 is a 25 degree cup (not sure if long or short) and in the case you end up with a 6274 dont forget it times a bit different then a non 6274 but still 25 degree cup. On all other cups the straight up center hash mark represents 12 1/2 degrees for setting lag angle while on the 6274 straight up corresponds to only 2 1/2 degrees (other hash marks are still 5 degrees each).

Believe thats going to b a short lug. Tractor runs about 195 degrees summertime parading. Figured if I wanted to work it i better reduce timing from 35 to 25 to cool things off a bit

Actually running at 195 during a parade is good. Helps reduce plug fouling. If the tractor doesn't overheat doing the other things you use it for, I wouldn't change it. I'm not sure if Wico made a 25 degree drive cup in the long leg style as they were used on gas only tractors, which used the short lug style.

I agree with Paul, parading can foul plugs pretty easy and it helps to run at a higher temp plus I lean the carb as much as possible.

As far as run timing, 25 is plenty fast for gasoline. The 35 was used a lot on all fuel tractors when running on low octane Drip Fuel or Tractor Fuel similar to Kerosene.

Of course (for those who may not know), the Lag Angle and adjusting the Lag angle on the rear of the Mag ONLY affects Start/Impulse Timing while the Drive Cup itself (plus rotational timing in governor case plus points gap) affects Run Timing.
