John Deere A G hood medalion question

I bought a hood medalion at a swap meet a few years ago labeled "A 30???". Sure looked like a G or A nose cone...well it don't fit. The 2 mounting holes are about an inch shorter than a G nose cone along with the over all depth of the shape. It sure looks like a G nose cone but after I gave up trying to move the hood around I put the old one on to see what the deal was and as soon as I held the old one I could see the difference. Its not a B nose cone. It's too wide so what other Deere model does this fit?

I'll have to take it and compare it to a B. I thought a B was not as wide as the A or G.

Done the same thing. Yup its a "B" medallion. They look almost alike but slightly shorter. Good Luck!

I think the only difference is the B is shorter. The B is harder to find than the other. You might try to sell yours and come out ahead. Check the price of Steiner's repro.
