Was at my local JD dealer today--yeah, the place I said I'd never go again! I needed an oil filter and thought I'd get a distributor cap and rotor for the 1020. Understandably they didn't have the cap or rotor in stock. Well, it's an old tractor so that is to be expected. When they told me the cap was $58 it did'nt matter if they would have had 20 of them. On-line prices are from 24-27 which is still kind of high but not as high at mother deere. I will get one from NAPA.

Ooh yes they are getting way out of reason,, and remember Deere didn't make the cap, they just "market" them same with a lot of the things there...

Deere owns A&I. I have been getting some A&I parts through Deere. If searching on Deere parts website, some times an alternative shows up. If not, put an A- in front of deere part #. Much cheaper.
