Replaced the coupler to the hydraulic pump 3 weeks ago. Put all new parts in, torqued the bolts on the coupler to 35 ft lbs. Put about 20 hrs on the tractor bush hogging and today the new coupler broke where it clamps on the hydraulic shaft, thus no hydraulics. any idea on why the new part would break? Got it on the net for $93. would it be possible there is a better made part available? Or, other problem that could cause this new part failure?

Pretty sure you over torqued the clamp bolts, but that info is at the shop and I'm not. I have already broken one when I tried to torque it to 35.

I have accounts with A&I and Hy-Capacity but will only use that shaft from Deere.

Won't be fixing for a couple weeks. If you are someone has torque spec for the 2 bolts (3/8 x 1 1/4) please let me know. Thanks for the help

Torque is 35 ft. lbs. . Sounds like the aftermarket may have been cast iron and not cast steel .That pump can use 25 hp. when it calls for full flow .

Yes I have a 30hp electric motor running my test stand with 3 belts, at full flow it works it some.
