Let me preface this post by stating I have not a lot of
experience working on motors and thus have somewhat
limited knowledge of them so if something I say doesn't make
much sense try not to laugh too hard.
I have a '54 John Deere model 60. When I put it under a good
load (pulling a 3x14 plow) there is a considerable amount of
smoke or exhaust that comes out of the cylinder head
ventilator tube. When it is just idling you can still see it but not
as much. There is also a noticeable clicking coming from the
cylinder head area. Is the smoke/exhaust normal? If not are
these two problems related? Are my valves out of adjustment
or is it something more? Any input helps. Thanks!
