Old G let me down!!

Tried to fire up my od G (1938) to take to local tractor show. Usually will start on the 3rd or 4th turn of the flywheel if I catch the choke right. Got a good POP out of it, then started getting fuel out of the petcocks. Pulled carb bowl and cleaned it up a bit, put in new Needle and seat I had around for a few years and tried again. Got fuel out of the petcocks soon. Pulled carb again, float was bad. Can't be more than 15 or 16 years ago I changed the float. I had used the old G on a PTO NH baler. Shut it off to go to town, when I came back fuel was running out of petcocks. Lots of fuel to fill 416 cu inches. Was really surprised that time that local dealer had a float n stock. This time I was pretty sure they wouldn't so ordered one with carb kit off this site. Didn't get tractor to the show, maybe next time I should check it out a few days before I guess. I run it about once a year, going to show, always drain carb and leave drain open when returned to shed. Will definitely have it fixed for next years show.

Never fails. My old "B" and or "JD70" would run perfect until it heard the word "PARADE" and then it was a hissey fit , bad mag coil , carb float on 70 needle & seat . Always before , during or after the show .
