1070 splined axle shaft

I was told that the right side axle shafts were subject to breakage & the part is no longer available from John Deere & hard to find anywhere. Is this true? Left side shafts are plentiful & cheap.

Right & left rear axles on a JD 1070 are identical. PN is M804687 Shaft - SHAFT, REAR ADD 765.34 USD

The shaft he was referring to was the stub shaft from the ring & pinion to a planetary?

You're correct as the RH pinion shaft M804666 is no longer available. Contact your local John Deere dealer for other options. but the LH is still available from JD. Have you thought about trying Yanmar for this part?
