Whats a JD 5-14 145 Plow worth?

The plow is in really good shape with good wear parts and a black JD cylinder on it. It was shedded up until this summer. The moldboards had a nice land polish on them but the rust is starting to dig in.

$500 or so. It's too big to be a collectable and too obsolete to be a worker. I plowed with a 145 5-16s until 2 years ago. I now plow with an IH 720 5-18's and it's a far better plow - AND easier to pull.

5 bottom plow plows are tough to sell.If it has coulters and a gauge wheel and adjustable side hill attachment helps but $4/500 is tops. The original 3/16s will bring $750 up 4bottoms less.I sold a rusty #44 on steel manual lift at auction for around $500 and have bought 5/16 F-145s for scrap price which is around $200.Seen a nice IH 3 bottom pull plow painted up bring $950.

(quoted from post at 07:40:54 09/11/14) Pulls easier because it's not a Deere. Lol Deere plows pull like
ship anchors

Yeah but who wants to pull and off color plow?? Not me. LOL

I owned a 4X16 F145 & a Massey Ferguson 6X14 semi-integral and I'll guarantee the MF pulled easier. So yes I'll pull a non green plow just for the fuel savings.

If you're just playing around at a plow day, sure. If you actually gotta get something done, better get an "off color" plow. For being famous as a plow company, Deere sure made them wrong through the 60's and 70's.
