435 baler auto twine

the auto twine on my 435 is not working. the warning light does not blink just comes on solid and the arms dont move. When I manually tie (with the rope) all works fine. I know my springs are all good, and the pump has fluid. Just got the baler and it had been sitting for 2 years.
thanks in advance!

Warning light not flashing is caused from a faulty or incorrectly adjusted switch(parts key 17) or maybe a wiring problem. Sometimes just bending the arm with roller down a hair on the switch will fix the non working flashing light. Monitor lights/gauges have nothing to do with twine application on a bale they are merely intended to let operator know what's happening. Now my guess is the spool valve isn't shifting to allow hyd oil to move twine arm in the correct direction. After ejecting baler & closing tailgate look at spool valve and IIRC(been many yrs since I repaired a 435) spool should be pulled up/out of valve body. I've seen these spools get rusty/dirty and spool hang in valve body.

When you say spool valve, what part number are you
talking about? Also it works fine when I trigger it
manually with the rope. thanks a bunch.

Jim, thats what I thought. I am assuming though it
is something else as that works fine when I manually
trigger it.

thanks

Manually pulling rope overrides the valve not shifting when gate is closed. I'll repeat after ejecting bale & closing gate INSPECT SPOOL position.
