I pulled the serial number from the tractor & double checked that number several times. 3T80J-204712, that is a six digit number. All places I checked on the internet & the manuals only have 5 digit numbers, any help appreciated. Thanks Dan

3T80J indicates an engine model so I suppose the 204712 is a serial number you're getting off the Yanmar engine, not off the tractor.

Dan, as Leon said, this is the data off the Engine plate. The Tractor serial number plate should be riveted to the top of the transmission tunnel forward of the shifters.
the below info is from the tractor serial number -

1978 MODEL YEAR (SERIAL NO. 001024 - 003858)
1979 MODEL YEAR (SERIAL NO. 003859 - 007388)
1980 MODEL YEAR (SERIAL NO. 007389 - 011337)
1981 MODEL YEAR (SERIAL NO. 011338 - 012480)
1982 MODEL YEAR (SERIAL NO. 012481 - 014182)
1983 MODEL YEAR (SERIAL NO. 014183 - 016005)
1984 MODEL YEAR (SERIAL NO. 016006-018000)
1985 MODEL YEAR (SERIAL NO. 018001-021479)
1986 MODEL YEAR (SERIAL NO. 022001-025041)
1987 MODEL YEAR (SERIAL NO. 025501- )
1988 MODEL YEAR (SERIAL NO. -030852)

So I have looked there several times & see there are now 2 small holes where the tag probably was & has since disappeared, that would be below the PTO. Looking over the tractor a little closer I have located what I now believe to be the serial number, #01372. That number I found on the drivers side of the transmission. Is that possible? It is a stamped in number & not cast in.

This site lists serial numbers. It says the SN tag is located by the PTO. That sounds right to me but I don't remember for sure.
