4030 tractor

I have a noise that came in the drive line.I think it in the differential.The transmission shifts perfect. It started when I was spraying.When I let out the clutch there was a slight exter delay. Then there was a vibration in the drive line.I stoped and floated it home.I will not be repairing till winter.Just wanting some opinions.Thanks in advance Lloyd

What transmission does it have? When it started it had you just taken it out of park?

It has a quad range trans.The problem seems to be in the diff as the trans shifts perfect.

Possibly could be rear axle brg. How long since you greased the outer axle brgs? Also check for loose rear wheel mounting bolts.

Wheels are not loose and I greased bearings at last oil change.It feels like spider gears.Tim s has mentioned he has worked on this model,i was wondering what he found as a problem.Lloyd

It's really hard to say at this point,, if you think it's the differential take it out and do a tight turn one way for a few circle and then the other way for a few, this will make the spider gears work, if they are failing they will talk to you doing this.
