Front End Weight 60-70

I see these weights for sale and the seem a tad high, Mcgrew and and some asking upwards to $1000. Does that reflect the salable price? Thank you.

i say leave them alone here lately seems like prices are way out of line

When I see a set at an auction I buy them if at all possible as the opportunity does not come around too often. Last set I got for $750, right after the parts jockeys quit bidding. I rarely buy unless it's at an auction.

I think I paid $400 or $500 when I bought mine for my 50. I didn't really blink as I figured they only fit a 50 and when I find them at that price again.

But it is alot of money at $1000, but now after I bought my set I have seen more sets for sale for a 50, and even a 60 & 70, so keep your eyes open.

In 1995 my partner on the farm & I traveled to
Erie Pa to look at a 45 square back combine that
was advertised in the paper. After we arrived
we found out is was a 40 combine & we didn't
purchase it. After some time of talking I saw a
60 in the machinery shed that looked sad & I
asked him about it. He said it was wore bad &
he'd sell it cheap. So I looked at the tractor
reached down moved the switch & even the lights
came on. Had real good tires, a Speco wide frt
801 3point. We had purchased a gravity box off
of him, he said he could get it out for us to
see it better on Saturday when we picked up the
gravity wagon. On Saturday we arrived with a big
truck & the 60 was in the yard. I walked around
it & asked whats the price again?? He said it's
Wore & Ware out bad? Well what do ya want for it
?? We jumped the tractor & it started right &
didn't run the best since the intake manifold was
cracked. I placed my hand over the crack & it
ran a whole bunch better, but I yanked my hand
back quickly when I notice it ran so much
better. He said it gets HOT quit!!! So AGAIN
I asked whats the price?? Said he take 600.00
for it? I said I think we'll take it too since
we have the room on the big trk/ so I used it
to pull the wagon on & we strapped the whole
works down. 300 for the wagon & 6 for the
tractor. Then he said I have a post hole digger
with all the attachments to the tractor for
150.00 so we took that too.... Also he said
theres other things that go with the tractor,
the rollamatic frt end& these heavy frt
weights?? I asked how much more do ya want??
They go with this tractor... I said OK,,,

Replace the manifold, installed 2 new
batteries & added a charlynn P/S that's all
I've done to this tractor... Used it last nite
to pull in hay wagons.... So these weight can be
bought CHEAP!!

You have to "Stumble" on to a deal like that,, If you make up your mind that you want a set a weights for a 60 right away it will cost you $800-$1200....I know this for my area for sure...

Depends on who needs the money or wants to price it for a quick sale. Two years ago I bought on Ebay a like new starter set of weights (3 pieces) with some bolts for $185. Thought that was a good price. Heard people say standard weights generally cost about $1 a pound. Rare or highly desirable weights obviously will cost what the market will bear. $1000 sounds out of the reasonable regime for my blood.

Yes that"s my thoughts too,, I would like a set for my 60C,, I"ll wait for a better deal...I"m not a tight A$$ but a good deal is always nice.. most 60"s around here never ran front weights, so they are kinda rare around here...a set will look good on this 60 MFWD I"m thinking about...

I found a set in a barn when I went out to bury this guy's horse with the backhoe. His son in law said that he's not much of a seller, but he doesn't have a 60 or 70, so he might be game for a sale. This was between junction and somerset on palomino road. Let me know if you're interested and I can get you his contact. I'm pretty good friends with his son in law.
