4010 intake filter

I have a 4010 that I have been pulling with, I believe the stock intake filter, wire mesh is partially plugged, can I remove the wire mesh without having to cut it apart? It has to be interchangeable right?

If I am following you there should be three thumb screws that allow the screens to be removed from the cup to be cleaned by air or solvent.

The wire mesh in the canister itself is what I was meaning. Sorry

Wire mesh is not easily removed from air cleaner housing.

You could remove it and install a k&n on intake. Ive also read where some people have converted them over to dry air cleaners? I was thinking maybe the late 4020"s were this way but not guaranteed.

Different tractor, but I took my mesh air cleaner to the car wash, put in about $5, and let 'er rip. Not saying I got it all out, but man, the gunk, the crawdads, twigs and leaves .... I guess it got clean. If you do this, make sure you oil it up quick, so it doesn't rust.

You can take the diesel air cleaners apart. They have cone-shaped screens in them, kinda like a cream separator. The gas and lp air cleaner still used the wire mesh.

I am thinking all 4020s were that way, have a 66 that has paper cleaner.
