My dad and I are starting to restore a john deere 430w. This is the first Dubuque Tractor that we have worked on. The first project is getting the gauges working. None of the gauges work.

It does have an original Dubuque oil pressure guage. The gauge itself looks good on the outside. Is there a way to test the guage to see it it works? We suspect the oil pressure sending unit maybe blocked or not working. What is the correct oil pressure sending unit for it? Where are they available?

Thanks for any information. Ryan

The gauge is easy to test. Remove the sender wire from the sender. The gauge should read low. Ground the wire. The gauge should read high. This assumes you have power to the dash and gauges. I just put in a mechanical gauge and ran a oil line up to the dash on mine. Evergreen Restoration offers both style gauges. Not sure about the sender though. Look in Green Magazine for Jerry's ad.
