3020- Removing front axle knees from center casting

I am removing the outer axle tubes and spindles (knees) from the cast iron center of the front axle. I have the 1" special bolts out and the two clamping bolts loose, but the outer axle on the right side will not come free from the center casting. Does anyone have experience with taking these out when they are stuck? I am considering taking the axle off the tractor and putting a hydraulic jack in the middle of the center casting so that I can apply outward pressure on the outer axle, then whacking the casting with a hammer until it comes loose.... Thanks for any suggestions!

Spray everything with lots of WD-40 or any rust buster a few times and let it set and soak. Once you can get the knee to turn in the housing it will usually work loose and come out. I made a "T" tool with the bottom of the T the diameter of the spindle and with two guys on each side at the top I can always get the knee to turn and move out.

Chisel works but beware of it flying out.
I also use a round bar through the knee, working up and down twists the knee in the casting.
Keep twisting as it works out.

Thank You all for the advice. I took the front end off the tractor, took the spindle out of the stubborn knee, and suspended the knee and casting so that I can soak areas with penetrating oil that I could not get to with it on the tractor. I drove chisels in each of the splits in the casting to open it up a little more. Now it is just a matter of time...
