What Plugs for 37 B

What plugs work the best in a 37 "B"? It has Autolite 3077 now, but is hard starting until you clean the plugs Just had the carb redone by Mike Shelby. Started the first pull, after replacing the carb but runs rough. Cleaned the plugs ran better.. So is there another plug that works better? These are the big old 18mm style. Thanks

That"s the plug I recommend and use in my 38 B, its hotter then the 3076. Things that can help are to run the carb on the lean side (don"t want a lot of excess black smoke),,,,,,,Use shutters or air curtains etc to get the temp up to 170+,,,,,,,,,Avoid long slow idle periods,,,,,,,,,,Have a good hot spark,,,,,,,,proper timing.

PS I think the 3077 is a 7/8 plug NOT the later smaller 18 mm like Autolite 386 and 388 or 3116

Thanks, John T. Yes the plugs are the larger size. I run 3116 in all my later models 45 thru 52 Tractors. Maybe I should try a new set just to eliminate another variable. Thanks for the response.

Heres the problem, if those tractors are used hours at a time under full heavy loads and up to temperature the plugs wouldn't get all black and sooty and carboned up like they do the way we baby them. That's why you use hotter plugs and run the carbs as lean as possible and get the temps up which helps reduce fouling.
