My 720d when shifted from low range into high range across the bottom of the shift quadrant will come out of gear. I've had this tractor for about 6 months and ive had the shift quadrant off 5 or 6 times to put the shifter back where it needs to be. Now I can no longer even get it into high range at all. It just goes to the high range side but runs in the low range speeds. What is wore out there and needs to be replaced. I know this is a common problem in wore out 720s. Thjs tractor has a working tachometers and reads 6000 hrs.

I'd start by replacing the shift lever, complete
with ball and socket.

While you're there study the shift forks/guides and
look for wear. Some guides can be welded up and
ground smooth.
