Deere 2010 Ammeter Wiring Diagram?

Hi,

I have the JD 2010 electrical wiring manual (SM-2035), but it doesn't include any wiring or schematic diagrams for how the ammeter is connected?

I had an electrical fire and a few wires had their insulation burned off before I could disconnect the battery cable. I can tell that someone re-wired the tractor years ago, and some crimped connections were BAD (i.e., half of the wires in the connector & half out). Gosh, some wires were even exposed!

In the manual, my model uses schematic #100-40-5 for serial #42001-up. But there's no mention at all regarding an ammeter.

Thanks for any help someone can provide.

Regards,
Anthony

Ammeter goes in series in the cable between the alternator/generator and the battery.
The light's/instruments are supplied from the ammeter post that has the generator/alternator also connected to it.

"there's no mention at all regarding an ammeter."

You don't suppose that's because the 2010 never HAD an ammeter from the factory?

And Buick told you how your "afterthought" ammeter should be connected.

GOOD job, BUICK!

I agree with Bob and Glen. I refer to the ammeter terminals as the SUPPLY SIDE which eventually gets to the hot ungrounded battery post often wired to where the big battery cable attaches to the starter solenoid/switch input, and the LOAD side which feeds voltage to loads like lights and ignition PLUS connects to the charging source such as BAT on a Voltage Regulator or the big main output stud on an alternator. Piece of cake.
