Looking at a 435 baler. the guy said the monitor works but the gauges that tell you to fill the sides do not. Would you think this is in the monitor or the sensors one the baler?
thanks in advance.

Problem could be the sensors, gauges or wiring harness. The 435 monitors are relatively simple IE no computer. Could be the pins.sockets in the quick disconnect on the harness. Just requires some diagnostics.

You say the monitor works....Do you mean the flashing/solid yellow and the red lights work?If this is the case and the bale shape needles don't move (even if you move the sensor arms manually), switch the ground and + wires supplying power to the monitor. The light don't care about polarity but the sensor potentiometers do. Stumbled onto this fix some years ago. BTW they are a darn good baler for their age too!

Im looking at purchasing a 435 baler I believe a 94 model. Has a monitor with it. Whats a fair price. He has all new belts on it. asking $6200. Will my 3020 diesel be enough to pull it. Also what all do I need to wire up to get the monitor to work on my tractor. Thank you

$6200 sounds high to me for a 20 yr old baler. I've seen used 467's not bring much over $10,000. 3020 should pull it but will definitely know it behind it if you make 6 ft tall bales at maximum pressure. New belts come in different qualities so I hope this baler has OEM quality belts. JD offers a electrical plug to mount on your tractor. Be sure and get the plug polarity correct as plug is negative ground.

thanks guys. The lights all work fine, just the two
gauges for telling you how full sides are don't
work.
