broken wheel on 60

i bought a 60 and i saw it has a crack in the wheel casting in front of where the pinion gear is.

has any one tried to weld them up and will it hold or is it going to have to be replaced?

There are 1000,s parted out or in yards , why fix it. Is it the WINDOW wheel or the DONUT style?Window style throw it away.

If the wheel shows no sign of changing or loosening, I might just leave it alone. You might be surprised what it takes to get the wheel loose!

How big is the crack, and does it look fresh?

yes its a fresh crack. its not a huge crack. here is a pic. its not the window style. id prefer to fix if it would hold.

My 60 did the same thing and it wasn't long until it got bigger. Best buy a used center and replace it. They aren't real expensive.

my 60 has a crack in the same place,someone welded it and it cracked beside the weld,its never gotten any bigger and the wheel stays tight so i have not messed with it yet...
