70 d standard pto

My helper told me my 70 pto lever will not pull up and lock in but runs fine if you hold it up. He said the lever seems to pull up to far. I rebuilt it about 10 years ago and it has not been used much since. He was wondering what to do. Could it be in the linkage?

Have you tried adjusting the clutch pack ?

Pto clutch in Section 135-10 of the service manual pages 1 through 8. Clutch adjustments instructions are on pages 7 & 8.

The tractor is not home and I was thinking I could get it working where it is sitting. I have all the manuals for it, I just haven't had time to run over and check it out. I used it about 6 weeks ago and the pto worked good.
