JD A loader and fenders

Can a JD 45 loader and flat top fenders be mounted on a JD A at the same time or would axle bolt locations interfere?

I cant remember for sure, but I don't think they will both fit at same time. What year is your A? If late enough you could put clamshell type on, they bolt to top of axle housing instead of the front.

For a 45 loader mounted on a 3010 with flat top fenders Deere made a hollow block to lift the fenders up about 3 inches and move them back about 3 inches. The block was made of two channels welded to make a tube. The ends were angled for better wrench access. There still wasn't much clearance between the loader arms and the lights when the loader was all the way up. I liked the higher fender position though.

Tightening the nut on the rear half of the U-bolt was a very slow process. You could only turn it half a flat at a time, flipping the wrench over each time. The loader tractor also was the corn picker tractor, so the fenders and blocks had to be removed every fall.
