Tim S Return line switch 4020/4010 steering valve

I am changing the steering valve from my parts tractor 4010d to my 4020 ps d and the only change is the small return line on the 4020 it comes out the back(engine side back side to me) on the 4010 it comes out of the tee on the bottom left with the selective control pipes. The little return line can go to the same place as the org? Right??? Thank you jon

Yes, The purpose of that return line is it drains low oil pressure off the back of the pressure regulating valve to keep it from Hydraulic locking, or not letting the valve work because of oil build up behind the valve sleeve #14

Your Welcome.. When Deere went with the 4020 they drained the valve down through the steering valve return circuit,,It made foe a nasty spot to get to, and that plastic line gets old and brittle causing a drippy leak in that area..
