Tim, I know your in Ohio and I am as well. We met at the show in Springfield, I doubt you remember with all the folks looking at your 60c. Anyway, I"ve got an 39-40 B in the shop and the block is cracked. I think about having it sleeved and the head needs planed and redone. Can you recommend a shop that is familiar with this type of work? I live in southeast Ohio but I could take it to a shop it was a reasonable distance. Thanks for the input!

What area of the block is cracked ? It might not be worth messing with ?

Not near you but I can recommend Center Automotive in Akron Ohio. I had them do several 2 cyl. sleeve jobs for me in the past. They have big enough machinery to even bore out an A block and leave the studs untouched. A plus for me as those studs can cause a lot of damaged if removed for no good reason.

No I don't know of any one around here that can do that,,I use to use Archers in Dresden, but they sold out last year...

Well, it seems like there"s not too many places that can handle a block that size anymore. Maybe someone else will comment with a trusted source. I may be in the market for a good used block, I guess.

Thanks Buckeye! That"s only about an hour away, I"ll try and give them a call so I can compare the cost of sleeving vs just finding another block. But a block for an early styled b are not too common.
