Removing rockshaft with out pulling cab on 4430

I changed the transmission pump on the same tractor yesterday, here is how I do it with the cab on, notice that you can only jack the cab up so far with out removing the hood or the shift linkage.I made the lift bracket with a wide opening so you can slide it around to line up the bolts.

That's a neat way to do that. I have a 6 ft bar with a plate on the end that I bolt on after taking the piston cover off. Hang a suitcase weight or two from the other end to balance and lift from close to the rear of the cab. It is a two person job the way I do it.

Yes it CAN be done...kinda tight under there isn"t it?? In the manual for the Mannheim built tractors with a cab it shows a dealer fabricated tool that threads into the oil filler cap to do the same job. Obviously the Mannheim RS housing is smaller and lighter. Sure beats having to remove the cab though. On the 6000 series tractors the cab tips off to the side and that works slick. No such provision on the 7000 :(

Hi
Nice Idea on the bracket, It"s probably pretty amazing how many of us guys that work in shops build these "Tools" to make jobs easier.
I got a bracket I made for doing tops on fordson super majors. It fits the seat mount, and when I use it with a cherry picker it balances the top, so it comes off and goes back square with guide studs. This way it doesn't mangle the stack pipe rings and bend stuff in the top by going down out of square.
