Where might I try finding new correct shut off value for the tank on my 4020.I really dont know if there still available.both will leak at a certain point the liquid has to be closed and the vapor about two rounds open, i think if you opened vapor all the way the stem would come all the way out something is just not right, going to john deere tomorrow and an lp store to see what i can find out. thank you if you know something i dont.

Deere doesn't have them have to go to a propane supplier. Look closely at the valves and there should be a number like BR7130 and thats the number you give the propane supplier. Once you install the new valves, just leave them open, they don't seem to make the valves like they use to and to many times opening and shutting them will cause the new ones to leak. Trust me. chris

Rick, I got rebuild kits for my 720 from Davenport Tractor. I believe they are the same brand (Rego?) as the new generation tractors.. Might be worth a look. 50 bucks each.

Ive done this once, but something whent wrong, now i learned you open them all the way and turn them back ahalf a turn before you install them ,itll take time but I hope to find some nos but if not ill try the rebuid kits yall have mentioned at davenports thanks rick,i do leave the vapor open all the time seems i cant find a leak but i still smell lp so i always leave it out side under covered parking, i have used soapy water everwere with the hood off.the liquid will leak so bad if you try to open it, but not when its closed.

You will at LEAST want to close the liquid valve, and run it long enough on vapor so that there is no liquid left in vaporizer or line.

I shut the fuel off on my propane tractors and let them run out, then turn off ignition. Leaving liquid turned on means that you have liquid sitting in the regulator along with hot water. You can build very high pressure in there.

your right the store here wants $349. each they probly havent sold one in 45 yrs but just let it sit there.makes no since, hopfully i got the rego number off one and have called my lp dealer to see if they can get a kit for them, thanks rick

found some rego 910p5h is on mine and they are under 20 bucks for the entire valve each.thanks to all rick

Davenport Tractors number is 563 323 2295 Rick. Let us know how u turn out.
BTW, I'm with Alan on this one. I always close the valves and run them out of fuel at the end of the day.

yes I know your should turn them off until tractor dies that takes the pressure off but mine are working as they should. may take me awhile but when i run out of fuil Ill replace them and get back to you all.

well those were just the housing so I ordered the correct seats for the housing Ive got 75 bucks.for the pair
