Magneto covers

I have seen guys having black magneto covers on their tractors to keep water condensation dirt what ever out. I was told they bought them from JD but i have not been able to find anything. Anyone knows or knows someone that makes these. Sure like to get a couple. Thanks...

When I used to give Wico Mag Workshops and the subject of covers came up, I always advised folks that AFTER rainfall or in the morning once the sun came out to REMOVE those covers to prevent sweating and condensation. Sure they keep rain off (and look better then plastic sandwich baggies lol) but if you have a good new cap and gasket and plug wire boots there could be less sweating and condensation then with no cover at all if not removed right after the rainfall.

But hey Im no weather or condensation expert and that opinion MAY BE ALL WET lol SO NO WARRANTY use them and leave them on all day if you please.

I avoid moisture as much as I can, that IS the ONE most common problem (always when you least expect it)..

If the Mag Cap is in good shape, clean it good on the outside and spray it with "Crystal Clear" paint and it will look like New and be "waterproof"..

Sure, make sure it is Clean on the inside, too..

Mag Caps seldom actually "Go bad"..

I trailered my tractor in some bad fog when I got to the show and tried to hand start it it took a long long time. When it did hit it ran on one cyl for a while before it straitened up. I had a Walmart bag tied on it and it still got wet.
