JD 2020 shifter interlock?

New to the forum-just purchased a 1968 gas 2020. There is a interlock device located on the gear shifters-I've attached a photo below. I haven't seen anything like it in all my shopping/looking, does anyone know if this is an aftermarket add on or did it come from JD?

I think Deere was forced to re-tro fit those models because of a law suite over one supposedly jumping out of gear causing injury,, when I worked at the Dealership we put a lot of them on,,and since then I have taken a lot of them "off",,it makes them even worse to get your leg past when mounting or dismounting them...
 
Interesting...I have never seen one of those before. I guess here in Canada we are able to kill ourselves easier LOL
 
My father bought a new 2030 in 1972-73. It did not have the shifter lock. It did jump out of park one time when it was hooked to a running square baler and started to roll away. My father caught it and we were careful about running the baler without an operator on the tractor. It was fitted with the lock kit when it came out later on.
