Having problems with getting combine to idle down. Combine has 329 diesel engine and roosa pump. Throttle linkage works back and forth as it should. Sometimes it will go to a slow idle but most of the time it seems like it runs at half throttle or so. No problem opening it up at any time it just dont want to come back down past half throttle. No problem with the engine surging or trying to run off it just wont slow down. Any help would be appreciated.

As no-one else has taken a stab at your question, I'll offer the following: I'd suggest you injection pump needs work. Maybe not a lot, but odds are that's where the problem is if the linkage is working correctly.

Thanks for the reply, I pretty much figured it was the pump. It has to have something to do with the governor. I have never really fooled with an injector pump before but I see a lot of folks have so it might not be that big of a deal. I guess I'll just ride it out for a while who knows maybe it will fix itself. Thanks again!

The governor is bad. 6620 did the same thing, only it never came back down. Was driving down steep slope and the engine ran away. Pulled the fuel stop and shut it down. I sent the pump in and exchanged it, problem solved. Kinda nasty buggers to change on 466 but the 329 is easy.
