Installing Model 45 loader

I have owned several JD 45 loaders and i think it is time to learn how to CORRECTLY install one without collapsing in on the ground or being in a shed wear you can't reattach it or against a face wall that don't work either. Somebody with a lot of experience please HELP. PS: I have SCRATCHED Drive ways tore up Sod lawns and just in general every thing over the coarse of 55 YEARS> 607-965-8612
evenings or reply here. Thanks

I park mine on concrete. Hooking it back up, I pull into the loader 'til the mounts are touching, then kick the stands out from under it and let it settle into the mounts. After hooking up the hoses and braces, I raise the loader and lock the stands up. I've parked it in the grass a few times, with the stands sitting on a couple of scrap 2X6's and it worked pretty good, but it's easier on the concrete - everything sits in the same plane. I've never collapsed it on the ground, but that may be in my future, ha. . .

Many years ago when we had a 45 loader on the 60
it had to mounted and dismounted many times
over the course of the year. We took it off
on a level surface with a piece of 2"x6" under each leg. When we mounted we drove into it, hooked
up the hoses then with the loader all the way into
the tractor axel brackets put a short chain around the loader and the tractor axel bracket. Leveled the loader so the knob lined up with the notch on the tractor axel bracket then backed up just enough to fold the legs and let the loader slip down into position. Put on the mast braces
, lift the loader and fold the legs. My description is as clear as mud if fear. The book says the loader can be mounted or dismounted in 5 minutes or less, that may be a bit optimistic.
Good luck.

In spring of "56" , when 45 loaders first came out, Service manager a Deere dealer we worked at , set his mind to prove 45 loader could be mounted in 5 min. after study of Predelivery Instructions book [which came with loaders] he determined proper dismount was important key to fast mounting,: Dismount; level spot; Bucket 8 to 10 inches of ground , set stands tight to ground;[with wood under] ; remove mast braces & pull pins from tractor axle bracket & quickly drop loader bucket by lowering hyd. lever , loader mast pops up out of bracket.. disconnect hoses and back out..... Pics from original Pre.D manual show mounting.... After a couple of times he was doing it in 4 min. ........

Carlyle - I just kick one leg at a time. It will drop a little bit on the first side that you kick, and a little more when you kick the other side. Might have to come back to the first side and kick it again. I just kick it with my foot. Won't work if it's not sitting on a board, or on concrete, because the leg will sink in, and then it's Handyman jack time. I take mine on and off a half dozen times a year. I've never had it get away from me. YET!!!
