Ball and socket joint on 2040 steering linkage

Hey all,

I've always found excellent help here on the forums whenever I have an issue with my 2040, so hopefully this one will be quick and easy for y'all.

Left front tire (as you're sitting in the seat.) I looked down this morning and noticed the rod had slipped off the ball. I was able to tap it back on with a hammer, but without the tape job, it just pops off again when you turn.

My question: it looked like there was some sort of bearing or something that was originally in the socket--and obviously the rubber boot dry rotted away. There also looks to be what used to be a retaining spring in the bottom of the socket.

Is this something that I can get a few parts for and repair myself, or was that ball joint pressed in at the factory?

For some reason the forum isn't allowing me to attach the picture, but it's at the following:

It is a non serviceable part...replace the tie rod end as an assembly. It un threads from the tube after you loosen the clamp. Count the number of turns it takes to remove it, so you don't change the toe in setting when you install the new end

Just wanted to update and say I got the assembly changed out this morning. I tell ya, an impact wrench is a lifesaver!

Pic of new one installed:
