They were about due. Last replaced in fall 2008.
Instead of buying 2 more 6 volt batteries, I just installed one 12 volt in the LH box and left the RH box empty. I pulled the ground from the RH box, and installed it in the LH box. I have the gear reduction starter. It seems to crank just as well on 1 12 volt as it did on 2 6 volts...
Am I gonna regret this?
If not, I'm gonna tack a piece of expanded steel on the backside of the RH box and have another place to store tools and parts.
