Deere 6405 Hydraulic/Transmission Low Pressure

My 02 Deere 6405 had a light to show up on the dash today for the hydraulic/transmission low pressure. The tractor will not go into gear and move at all but the hydraulics still work; however, the loader is a bit jerky when you raise it. I thought it may be the pressure sensor but I don't know why that would make it not move. Any ideas what the problem might be and where it would be located.

Syncro-Plus or Power -Reverser?
Hours, history? last transmission oil and filter change?
Unusual sounds ? Oil colour and smell? Oil level ?
Do you have oil pressure test gauges? Did you try it with the loader supply lines disconnected ?

I used the tractor yesterday to pull a scrape box and everything worked like normal. I got in it this morning and the light came on and wouldn't move. I don't have any pressure gauges

I agree on checking pressure with a gauge. It could be as simple as a faulty sensor but I like to diagnose rather than just swap parts.

I bought a gauge this morning. Where on the transmission should I put the gauge and what pressure would be normal.

There probably isn't any info in the operator's manual. The good news is that the nice folks at 1-800-522-7448 have service manuals on CD and hard copy.
Locations , procedure and specs should be there. The price of a manual and gauge could save you $ thousands incase your mechanic is a parts replacer instead of a trouble shooter.
